Sign On & Retention Bonus

We are excited to announce that our sign-on bonus for certified EMS personnel who are not currently employed by Spirit EMS has been expanded for any certified willing to work any station.

Thanks to a grant only available through the end of September, the sign-on bonuses are substantial! We’re offering $10,000 for certified EMTs and Advanced EMTs, and $15,000 for certified paramedics. This financial boost requires a two-year commitment, with the following payout structure:

**For EMTs or Advanced EMTs:**

- $2,500 upon signing

- $2,500 after one year of service

- $5,000 after two years of service

**For Paramedics:**

- $5,000 upon signing

- $2,500 after one year of service

- $7,500 after two years of service

**To qualify for the sign-on bonus program:**

- Employee must be currently certified as an EMT, Advanced EMT, or Paramedic in Ohio.

- Employee cannot be a current employee of Spirit EMS or been employed by Spirit in the past 365 days.

- Employee must work at either the Van Wert or Defiance station for the duration of the bonus payout program. 

- If Employee’s employment is terminated for any reason after receiving the bonus, the amount paid to date prior to the two-year anniversary date will be deducted from the final paycheck as permitted by law and the employee will be obligated to repay any remaining bonus amount to Spirit EMS within thirty days of terminating your employment.

 

- An employee who is hired under this bonus program will not be eligible for any other longevity or retention bonuses for two years post-signing.

- New hires must adhere to all terms and conditions of employment, including company policies.

- Employees must work a regular full-time schedule of no less than forty hours per week, or as determined by management. 

- Applications must be completed by September 20, 2024, and a letter of employment acceptance must be received from the candidate no later than September 30, 2024, with employment commencing no later than October 15, 2024.

New competitive wage scale to commensurate with experience starting at: $18.00 for non-probationary EMTs, $20.00 for Advanced EMTs, and $23.00 per hour for paramedics.
