Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulances are operated by either a Paramedic or an
EMT-Advanced, based on the patient's medical condition and their specific medical
requirements during transport. Ambulances with Paramedic personnel are equipped to
transport patients on a Mechanical Ventilator, perform Surgical Cricothyrotomy, manage
advanced airways, monitor 12-lead ECG, insert an Intraosseous Needle, and carry out
other specialized procedures.

EMT-Advanced teams are capable of monitoring heart rhythms, administering normal saline through IV, and providing a variety of medications for conditions other than cardiac issues, in addition to monitoring the heart's electrical activity.
